About the role:
Linkage Community Trust are looking for 2 waking night Deputy Managers to form part of the senior support team within the Toynton Care Hub working from 10pm-7.00am on a rota basis.
Our Toynton Care and Independence Hub consists of 3 residential and 2 supported living services based on our site in Toynton All Saints as well as 1 residential service in Spilsby and another near Scremby.
This is a new and exciting role where you will have the responsibility for the running of our Night support staff team across our services as delegated by the Registered Managers. Ensuring the safety, well-being and security of the people we support and buildings throughout the night.
You will be responsible for the direct line management of a team of experienced waking night staff and will hold a responsive role to assist the night staff that lone work in the event of an emergency and will be expected to respond and attend when required to all properties within the hub.
The role will involve:
Lead and supervise Waking night staff lone working in our services
Ensure the safety and welfare of all the people we support during the night
Respond to incidents, emergencies and safeguarding concerns.
Complete worker night checks, reports and handovers
Maintain a calm and secure environment.
Assisting and monitoring the people we support with their personal health and care need
Supporting staff members with training and supervisions
Organising Staff Rotas to include cover for holidays and illness
Working with the Registered Manager to meet the needs and wishes of the people we support
Working with the Registered Managers to meet CQC Requirements
Providing a caring environment following specific procedures as detailed in their care plan, whilst maintaining respect and dignity
The administration and recording of medication as per the medication system
Informing the manager of any significant developments and /or difficulties within the care setting
About you:
Must have line management experience - Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent
· Ability to work independently over night
· Strong leadership and decision-making skills
· Must be supportive of the choices made by the people we support, innovative and enthusiastic
· Have a good understanding of the mental capacity assessments and best interest process
· Able to remain patient in challenging situations and have an understanding approach towards the needs of individuals with learning difficulties
· Flexible approach to meeting the needs of the people we support
· Willing to undertake personal care when required
· Good IT skills
· Willing to complete in-house training and basic induction
