Full job description

This short‑term opportunity offers an experienced leader the chance to make a meaningful impact by leading our Pharmacy department and supporting our people.

You will provide strategic, operational and collaborative leadership to ensure medicines use is optimised within the acute setting.

You will work closely with the divisional leadership team to lead, influence and deliver better care for our patients. The successful candidate must be strategically orientated, take a partnership approach to working, and demonstrate empathy.

The successful candidate will be joining an innovative, high‑performing pharmacy team that is well respected within the Trust and beyond.

Responsible for the safe provision, management and strategic service development of the Pharmacy Service. Ensuring that the objectives of the Trust and its Service Groups are met through effective resource and performance management.
Work with the pharmaceutical leads within the Integrated Care Board to ensure joined up policy and pharmaceutical care across the

locality.

To line manage the senior leadership team within the Pharmacy department.

Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper-based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined-up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.
