Role Purpose
The Flatbed Bin Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, collection, and placement of waste and recycling bins ranging from 1100L commercial bins through to 120L. The role involves operating a flatbed vehicle, loading and unloading bins, and ensuring excellent customer service while representing the company professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a flatbed vehicle to deliver and collect waste and recycling bins (1100L, 660L, 360L, 240L, and 120L).
- Load and unload bins from the vehicle using appropriate handling techniques and equipment.
- Deliver bins to customer premises and position them in agreed locations.
- Collect and remove old or damaged bins where required.
- Complete daily delivery schedules and routes as assigned by the transport or operations team.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures.
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are recorded accurately using company systems.
- Communicate effectively with the office team regarding completed jobs, issues, or delays.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety while working on customer sites and public areas.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers at all times.
Health & Safety
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Use appropriate manual handling techniques when moving bins.
- Ensure loads are secure before transporting.
- Wear required PPE including high-visibility clothing and safety footwear.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- Valid UK driving licence (Category B or C depending on vehicle requirements).
- Previous experience in delivery driving, logistics, or waste management is desirable.
- Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle operation.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
