Cambridge Regional College is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Electrician to join our Construction team in Huntingdon as a Lecturer in Electrical Installations. You don’t need to have taught before — if you’ve got solid industry experience and enjoy helping others learn, we’ll support you every step of the way.

What the Role Involves
This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your skills and experience to the next generation. You’ll be:
- Teaching practical and theory‑based Electrical Installations sessions

Supporting learners as they develop their skills and confidence

Helping shape and update the curriculum using your industry knowledge

Carrying out the usual admin that comes with teaching and assessment
You’ll be working in a well‑equipped environment alongside a supportive team who will help you settle into teaching, even if it’s completely new to you.
We welcome applications from electricians who:
Have strong, up‑to‑date industry experience

Hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations

Communicate well and enjoy helping others learn

This role is eligible for Levelling Up premium payments, meaning you could receive up to £6,000 per year (after tax) on top of your salary if you meet the criteria. This is available to FE teachers in their first five years of teaching specific subjects, including construction and engineering.
