We have recently completed our transformational £21.9 million redevelopment project, creating a purpose-built hospice with enhanced facilities designed to meet the needs of children and young people with life-limiting conditions for years to come.

Our hospice now provides modern, welcoming spaces for families accessing respite, symptom management and end-of-life care. These improved facilities ensure we can continue delivering personalised, specialist care in an environment specifically designed to support children, young people and their families across Yorkshire.

As we open our teenage wing, we are looking to expand our team of Care Team Nurses. As a valued member of our award-winning and vibrant clinical team, you will provide palliative care, alongside planned and emergency short breaks, both within the hospice and in the community.

You will benefit from the opportunity to deliver 1:1 nursing care while working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including therapists, family support professionals, and a 24-hour medical team. We are committed to supporting your wellbeing and professional development, offering a positive learning environment where you can build your skills and competencies in paediatric palliative care. Our dedicated Nurse Practice Educators will support your ongoing learning development, helping you to thrive in this rewarding and unique environment.

Our ideal candidate:

Committed to Martin House’s values – Excellence, Respect, Integrity and Compassion.
Nursing qualification such as children’s nurse/learning disability nurse
Active NMC Registration with no restrictions on practice
Experience of working in a care setting, preferably with children and young adults
Outstanding care skills with a focus on empathy, compassion, and active listening
Professional experience of administering medicines in a care setting
Proficiency with a range of IT systems
Will have access to a vehicle for business use and able to drive a Martin House Pool car It would be advantageous to have prior experience of working in a palliative care setting and/or nursing children with life limiting conditions, including children with special educational needs.
