Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team on a maternity cover basis. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality care and early childhood education to young children, fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. You will need skills that will ensure that each child's developmental needs are met through engaging activities and personalised support. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact during a crucial stage of children's growth while working within a vibrant, supportive team.

We run term time only, 8.30am-3.30pm, caring for preschool children, aged 3-5 years, in a small rural nursery, maximum of 12 children. Minimum of 20 hours per week, additional hours maybe available

Minimum rate of £13.50 per hour (Qualified)

Duties

Deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and social skills among children
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times
Observe, record, and assess each child's progress to tailor activities that support their individual needs
Maintain open and effective communication with parents, colleagues, and management to support children's development
Manage daily routines including meal times and transitions smoothly and efficiently
Lead by example in implementing best practices in childcare and early childhood education
Support the management team with planning, organizing resources, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment

Experience

Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting, with relevant qualification SVQ level 7 / SNNEB / NNEB / HND /HNC
Knowledge of curriculum for excellence, Realizing the Ambition, health & safety standards, and safeguarding procedures
Excellent communication skills in English to engage confidently with children, parents, and colleagues
Ability to drive due to location

Successful applicants will be required to registering with SSSC within 6 months, and be subject to PVG check
