Marine Technical Limits (MTL) are a highly specialist company providing support to the owners and operators of FPSO’s specifically in regard to managing the integrity of the hull and associated structures. MTL also provide specialist technical and safety engineering support and project management services for in-water, on-station repairs of FPSO’s during production.
We’re looking for a CAD Designer to join our growing team, supporting a wide range of structural and mechanical projects, including FPSO repair work. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career or looking to pivot into engineering design. You will enjoy problem-solving, working with detail, and collaborating with others.
While this role is primarily office-based, there may be opportunities to travel offshore or overseas to support projects, if this is something that interests you.
What you’ll be doing
- Producing structural drawings and sketches for use in our inspection software (PYXIS)
- Collaborating with engineers and suppliers to develop and refine offshore equipment designs
- Supporting the preparation of inspection and repair workpacks
- Creating 3D models for visualisation and technical analysis
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to tick every box, we’re keen to hear from people with the right mindset and willingness to learn.
· An interest in mechanical engineering, design, or CAD (formal qualifications or equivalent experience welcome)
· Some exposure to 2D drafting or CAD software (academic, personal, or professional)
· A high level of attention to detail and the ability to stay focused on repetitive or precision-based tasks
· Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise different demands
· Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
Nice to have (but not essential):
· Experience with 3D modelling or visualisation
· Familiarity with Rhino 3D (training will be provided)
· Any background in creative or technical software such as Blender, Unity, or similar

Salary
· Competitive, depending on experience (anticipated range £32,000 – £46,000)
