Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Equine Veterinary Nurse to join our specialised veterinary team. The successful candidate will support veterinarians in providing high-quality care to equine patients, ensuring their health and well-being. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about equine medicine and eager to develop their clinical skills within a professional environment. The position is paid and suitable for those committed to advancing their career in veterinary nursing.

Duties

Assisting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures on equine patients
Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
Collecting samples for laboratory testing and preparing specimens for analysis
Maintaining accurate patient records and updating treatment plans accordingly
Providing pre- and post-operative care to horses, including wound management and bandaging
Supporting clients with advice on horse health, nutrition, and management practices
Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of the veterinary clinic, including sterilisation of equipment
Assisting with Diagnostic Imaging including MRI, CT and Bone scans

Experience

Prior veterinary experience is essential, with a preference for candidates specialising in Diagnostic Imaging
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are vital for maintaining accurate records and managing multiple cases simultaneously
Compassionate approach when handling horses and communicating with clients
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
