Job Description – Youth Pastor*
Contract: Full time 30 hours (5 days) a week to include Fridays and Sundays with varied daytime, evening & weekend work. (Potential for flexibility to be agreed with your line manager).
Salary Band: £12.85 /hr (20,100 max)
HFCR is a dynamic and Spirit filled RCCG (Redeemed Christian Church of God Family) church and community in Rugby in the Midlands, made up of believers across all ages who are united in our passion for Jesus. You will be a key member of the pastoral staff team, responsible to the Charities Trustees, and the Senior Pastor, for leading and developing the youth ministry, both through outreach and pastoral oversight of our current youth. The youth ministry relates to young people between the age of 11 – 18 years old. You will be line managed by a Senior Ministry Leader.
You will be responsible for building a community of young people, who are growing in their relationship with Jesus. This will include delivering the worship and teaching programme on Sunday mornings (and eventually as its own Parish Plant) and a suitable midweek programme for the set age group. You will also provide pastoral care for the youth in partnership with their parents. You will develop and lead youth outreach opportunities locally in the community.
You will have a pastoral and/or evangelistic skillset, with a passion for youth. Depending on your gifting, there will be opportunities to step into broader ministries within the church.
It is an occupational requirement to be a Christian and you will be required to work on Sundays and on other key religious celebrations, such as Christmas and Easter, unless otherwise agreed with your line manager.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Work
· Develop and deliver the vision for youth work in step with the general ministry at Harvest Fellowship Church.
· Proactively and creatively disciple young people and support them in growing up in the world with all its opportunities and challenges, tailoring to their individual circumstances and needs.
· Develop and implement local outreach to unchurched young people e.g., schools programme etc.
· Be responsible for the effective delivery of all youth work, including delivering dynamic, Spirit-filled, Biblical teaching, community building, etc.
· Run a mid-week youth group during term time.
· Deliver other occasional youth events and take the youth-to-youth camps (e.g., Satellites).
· Recruit, train and lead a Youth Leadership Team of volunteers.
Administration
· Oversee the effective administration of youth ministry, including maintaining accurate registration records.
· Responsible for implementing youth work policies for use at Harvest Fellowship Church.
· Responsible for drafting, proposing , presenting and managing (when allocated) an annual youth budget in conjunction with your line manager for the approval of the Senior Pastor.
· Plan and deliver the termly youth programme.
· To maintain and work alongside Safeguarding Officer in promoting and applying the Child Protection policy and any other safeguarding needs of HFCR– including DBS checking and training the team.
· To promote youth work within Harvest Fellowship Rugby and Province 2, Region 11, RCCG Europe Continent 9 (the Fruitful Continent)
· Timekeeping skills – ability to keep team and self on track in line with the Youth programmes.
General
· Contribute fully to the broader mission of RCCG Harvest Fellowship Rugby.
· Actively engaged in midweek, staff, and other meetings and Sunday church.
· Contribute fully to whole church events e.g. conferences.
· Contribute to and engage with the Youth ministry of the RCCG in the UK
· Preach on occasions as agreed with the Senior Pastor.
· To carry out any reasonable task as required by your line manager in support of the ministry work of RCCG Harvest Fellowship.
· Have personal faith life that is growing and vibrant.

· You are well organised, and able to administer and coordinate the ministry with appropriate help from the administrative staff and the ministry team in Harvest Fellowship Church.

Other:
You will be expected to consider RCCG Harvest Fellowship Church, Rugby as your home church, and to fully accept and lead others in line with the Christian values, beliefs and vision of the church as defined by the Vision of RCCG HFC Rugby, under God, through the RCCG.
In line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act for the defined role of Children’s and Community Pastor you are required to disclose criminal convictions or cautions and agree to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check for this role and share the outcome with the Safeguarding Officer.
