Full job description

The Inpatient Unit (IPU) at Arthur Rank Hospice has 21 beds that provide expert care to patients with specialist palliative care or end of life care needs.

We are looking for Ward Assistant to join our IPU team, this is a part time role working 15 hours (2 days) per week on a rota basis which will include weekends. The role is fixed term for 6 months.

As a Ward Assistant you will assist nursing staff in providing a high standard of care to patients and contribute towards maintaining a clean and safe environment within the Hospice. You will support the comfort and wellbeing of our patients and families and undertake roles including food preparation & distribution and light cleaning & housekeeping duties, such as making beds.

To be successful in this role you will have experience working as a housekeeper or within a domestic role with an understanding of hygiene and infection control procedures. You will be caring and able to communicate with empathy.
