Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile General Builder/Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of practical skills across various trades, enabling them to contribute effectively to diverse building projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with hands-on experience in construction, maintenance, and renovation work, committed to delivering high-quality results in a safe and efficient manner.
This role is offered on a self-employed basis initially with the potential to move to PAYE for the right candidate.
Duties
- Constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using various materials and techniques.
- Carrying out masonry tasks such as bricklaying, blockwork, plastering and groundworks.
- Operating hand tools (hammers, saws, chisels) and power tools (drills, saws, grinders) safely and efficiently.
- Fabricating custom components or structures as required for specific projects.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in masonry, plastering, groundworks etc
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and power tools confidently.
- Strong understanding of construction processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to different tasks.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for precise workmanship.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a supportive environment.
- Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if necessary.
- Commitment to health & safety standards on-site.
This position is suitable for motivated individuals eager to develop their skills across multiple trades within the construction industry while contributing to high-quality building projects.
Pay: £24.00-£26.00 per hour
