Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader specialising in garden maintenance to oversee and coordinate landscape projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture and gardening, with excellent leadership skills to guide a team of groundskeepers and horticultural staff. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring high standards of landscape upkeep, and implementing sustainable gardening practices. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily garden maintenance activities, including planting, pruning, mowing,
- Operate and maintain various hand tools, power tools, safely and efficiently.
- Lead the team in executing landscape maintenance plans aligned with client specifications and environmental standards.
- Monitor the quality of work performed by team members, providing guidance and training as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment is used responsibly, maintained properly, and stored securely after use.
- Promote health and safety protocols within the team to prevent accidents or injuries on site.
- Liaise with the manager to discuss project progress or specific landscape requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance roles.
- Demonstrable knowledge of growing techniques, plant care, and sustainable gardening practices.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems relevant to garden maintenance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to organise tasks effectively and motivate a team.
- Good understanding of landscape design principles and horticultural standards.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team is preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in executing grounds maintenance
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in horticulture or landscape management are advantageous but not essential.
