We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our vibrant Academy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various dance styles and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for students of all ages. As a Dance Instructor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the skills and confidence of our dancers while promoting a love for movement and creativity.
Duties
- Teach dance classes in various styles, including ballet, tap, musical theatre , and modern jazz.
- Develop lesson plans that cater to the diverse skill levels of students.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students to enhance their performance and technique.
- Organise and participate in studio events, showcases, workshops and performance.
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Collaborate with other instructors to create an engaging curriculum that aligns with the studio's mission.
- Stay updated on current dance trends and techniques to ensure high-quality instruction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a dance instructor or performer in relevant styles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- A background in choreography is advantageous.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability in teaching methods.
- Ability to work well with individuals of all ages and skill levels.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in dance education are preferred.
- Up to date DBS check.

Hours of work:
The Academy runs term time only and is closed for school holiday periods (based on the Kirklees school calendar).
Thursdays: 4pm - 7pm
Beginners Across, Musical Theatre, Modern Jazz
Saturdays : 9am - 3pm
Combo Classes - Ballet / Tap / Musical Theatre / Modern Jazz for children age 5 - 8
Theatre Training Sessions - Twice monthly on a Saturday 12.30pm - 2.30pm - teaching Acting / Singing and Dancing to students of all ages.
Additional classes and hours may be required at times such as cover for other teachers and in line with the needs of the Academy.
Job Type: Freelance
Pay: £15.00-£22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 8 per week
