Job Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and optimisation of production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant manufacturing processes. The role requires a hands-on approach to machine configuration, production support, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness within a regulated production environment.
Working closely with the Production team, the Machine Operator plays a key role in ensuring smooth production flow, minimising downtime, and maintaining product quality and compliance throughout all operations.
Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Operation
- Configure and set up machinery prior to production runs in line with operational requirements
- Ensure all machine settings are correct to support efficient and accurate production
- Operate machinery during production, monitoring performance and output
- Respond promptly to any machine stoppages and take appropriate action to restart operations
Production Efficiency
- Take responsibility for ensuring each production day runs as efficiently as possible
- Monitor workflow and make adjustments to improve productivity and minimise downtime
- Work collaboratively with Production Operatives to maintain a continuous production flow
Cleaning & Hygiene Standards
- Oversee the full cleandown of machinery and clean room areas at the end of each production run
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the required hygiene and compliance standards
- Carry out and/or coordinate periodic deep cleans of machinery to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all company policies, procedures, and compliance standards are followed at all times
- Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements relevant to the production environment
- Support quality control processes and ensure products meet required standards
Health & Safety
- Operate machinery safely and in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Ensure the production environment remains safe, clean, and hazard-free
- Report any faults, risks, or incidents immediately.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Prefer Hindi Speaking
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and mechanical systems is advantageous
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment is desirable, with certification preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily operations
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock management tasks
