Overview
We have an opening for a Removal Man/Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, assisting with the loading and unloading of items, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the process. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in delivery, warehouse work, or commercial driving to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment.
A degree of flexibility is required within the working hours for overtime and potential overnight away with work for long distance moves.
A "Can do" attitude and problem solving approach are also preferred.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including lorries and vans, to transport goods between locations.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of furniture and other items, ensuring proper handling and heavy lifting techniques are applied.
- Organise and secure loads to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards of the vehicle and work area.
- Complete relevant paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs.
- Follow all health and safety regulations during transit and handling activities.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehouse environments is preferred.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, including operating heavy vehicles such as lorries or large vans.
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures and heavy lifting techniques.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking. This position is ideal for individuals who are organised, dependable, and comfortable working in physically demanding environments while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
