About Us

Klinefelter Syndrome Support Scotland is a newly established charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by Klinefelter Syndrome (XXY).

Our mission is to raise awareness, reduce isolation, provide trusted support, improve understanding, and advocate for better healthcare and opportunities across Scotland.

Founded through lived experience, we are building Scotland’s first dedicated charity focused solely on supporting the XXY community. We’re looking for passionate volunteers who want to help build meaningful connections and strengthen our growing community.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Volunteer Community Engagement Coordinator to help grow our charity through community outreach, partnerships, events and relationship building.

This exciting volunteer role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, building networks and creating opportunities that bring communities together.

Working closely with the Board of Trustees, you’ll help expand our reach across Scotland while developing partnerships with healthcare organisations, charities, businesses, schools, universities and local communities.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Volunteer Community Engagement Coordinator, you may assist with:

Developing relationships with community organisations and partner charities
Identifying opportunities for collaboration and partnership working
Supporting awareness campaigns across Scotland
Helping organise online and in-person events
Building relationships with healthcare professionals and local services
Promoting volunteer opportunities within local communities
Encouraging community participation and engagement
Representing the charity at community events and networking opportunities where appropriate
Supporting the development of local support groups and community initiatives
Helping identify opportunities for fundraising and community projects
Working alongside trustees to strengthen the charity’s presence throughout Scotland

Time Commitment

We’re ideally looking for volunteers who can contribute around 2 hours per week, with flexibility around when those hours are completed.

Most meetings are held remotely during evenings or weekends, with occasional opportunities to attend community events across Scotland.
