John Robson Metals Ltd has been at the forefront of safe dismantling and demolition in the Electrical Supply Industry for almost 50 years.
We specialise in High Voltage Substation dismantling and demolition and all associated works including, but not exclusive to; transformer disposal, transformer oil disposal, high voltage equipment disposal, cable de-oiling, cable services, PCB and SF6 gas recovery.
We operate two sites in Preston, one operating as a fully permitted waste site and main offices and the other covering our maintenance, stores, and fabrication departments. Our site works are carried out across the UK mainland.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Training and Resource Planner to support the coordination of staff training and resource planning. This role is central to ensuring that training requirements are met efficiently and that resources are scheduled effectively to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and book training for staff across the organisation, ensuring all mandatory and role-specific training is scheduled in a timely manner
- Liaise with external training providers to arrange sessions, confirm availability, and manage logistics
- Maintain accurate training records, trackers, and systems, ensuring compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements
- Monitor training expiry dates and proactively plan re-certifications based on staff availability
- Provide support to the Senior Project Manager, updating and producing a 4-week rolling plan of activities plus undertaking any ad hoc general office duties as required
- Assist in developing and improving processes to enhance efficiency in training coordination and resource planning
About You
- Proven experience in an administrative or coordination role, ideally involving training or scheduling
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data management
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team responding positively to unplanned changes
- Full drivers licence
