Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service whilst ensuring the smooth operation of the café. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry, particularly in food and beverage service. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and a positive attitude are essential.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, adhering to company standards.
Assist customers with their orders, providing friendly and professional service at all times.
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system, ensuring correct change is given.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow food safety guidelines diligently to uphold hygiene standards.
Support food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or light snacks when required.
Ensure prompt service during busy periods by managing time efficiently and prioritising tasks effectively.

Requirements

Previous barista experience or knowledge of coffee preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred.
Experience in serving customers in a hospitality environment is advantageous.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining a friendly demeanour.
A proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required. This role offers an engaging environment where you can enhance your hospitality skills while contributing positively to our team’s success.
