Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Weighbridge operator/Trainee Machine Operator. This role provides an excellent opportunity for candidates to develop their skills and gain experience in a fast-paced sawmill environment. Full training will be provided, making it an ideal position for those looking to start or build a career in the timber industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation of machinery and equipment.
- Handle, sort, and stack timber products safely and efficiently.
- Perform general labouring tasks, including maintaining work areas.
- Support the production team by ensuring materials are prepared and available as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Carry out additional duties as required to support the smooth running of the sawmill.
- Operate the weighbridge system to weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Accurately record weights, vehicle details, and load information in the site management software.
- Issue tickets, delivery notes, and other relevant documents.
- Ensure all documentation is complete, correct, and filed appropriately
Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate records of material movements.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Support stock control processes for incoming and outgoing materials

- Essential:
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding role.
- Desirable:
- Previous experience in a labouring or industrial environment.
Training and Development
- Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to the successful candidate.
