Senior Support Worker

Salary: £40,000 per annum (pro rata, depending on contracted hours)
Location: Maple Ridge Care Home, West Inverness
Contract: Permanent

About Maple Ridge Care Home

Maple Ridge Care Home is a privately owned, purpose-built home providing accommodation and support for 18 adults with a range of learning disabilities. Since 1987, we have been committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that enables each resident to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

The Role

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team.

This is a permanent position working on a rolling rota consisting of:

Two 24-hour shifts (including sleepover duties)
Followed by two days off

Applicants must be able to work this rotating shift pattern, including overnight sleepovers.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead shifts, support the day-to-day running of the home, and ensure our residents receive exceptional, person-centred care. You will work closely with colleagues, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families to promote positive outcomes while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead shifts and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
Support, review, and update person-centred support plans and risk assessments.
Administer medication safely in line with company policies and procedures.
Use appropriate equipment and moving and handling techniques, including hoists and wheelchairs.
Liaise effectively with NHS professionals, families, and other external agencies.
Maintain clear communication with the wider staff team.
Promote the health, wellbeing, dignity, and independence of residents.
Attend mandatory training and actively engage in ongoing professional development.
Respond confidently and effectively to challenging situations while maintaining a positive and supportive environment.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office.
An SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards achieving it).
A reliable and professional approach, with excellent attendance and punctuality.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Confidence to lead shifts and make fair, consistent decisions.
A full UK driving licence (preferred).
Willingness to undergo an Enhanced PVG check.
