Full job description

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Procurement Manager to join our Procurement Team, playing a key role in delivering strategic and operational procurement across Highlands and Islands Enterprise. This is a varied and impactful role, leading medium to high value and risk procurement exercises from end to end while providing expert advice and guidance on procurement legislation, governance and best practice. You will bring significant experience of public sector procurement, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations and the ability to manage complex procurement activities with confidence. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will influence and support colleagues, ensuring compliance while driving value for money and innovative approaches.

THE PERSON

Alongside your technical expertise, you will be a highly organised and detail-oriented professional, capable of managing a diverse workload and prioritising effectively to meet deadlines. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, negotiate effectively and translate complex procurement requirements into clear, practical guidance. A creative and solutions-focused approach is essential, as is confidence in using systems such as Public Contracts Scotland and Microsoft Office tools. This role would suit someone who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team, and who is motivated to contribute fresh thinking and continuous improvement within a forward-looking, values-driven organisation.
