Veterinary Physiotherapy & Hydrotherapy Assistant (Career Pathway Role)
We are looking for a Veterinary Physiotherapy & Hydrotherapy Assistant to join our forward-thinking rehabilitation practice in the heart of Inverness.
This is a structured career development role for someone with experience working with animals who is looking to build a long-term future in veterinary rehabilitation and hydrotherapy.
We are particularly interested in candidates from backgrounds such as veterinary nursing, animal care, animal technician work, grooming, or similar hands-on animal roles who are ready to take the next step in their career.
This role offers a clear progression pathway within the practice, starting in a hands-on assistant position with the opportunity to develop into formal hydrotherapy training (Level 3 and Level 4) for the right candidate over time, based on performance, commitment, and suitability.
The Role
This is a varied clinical support position within a busy rehabilitation environment. Duties will include:
- Assisting veterinary physiotherapists during treatment sessions
- Supporting hydrotherapy and rehabilitation appointments
- Preparing treatment areas, including underwater treadmill setup
- Monitoring and maintaining hydrotherapy equipment (including water quality and hygiene standards)
- Handling and supporting animal patients during rehabilitation sessions
- Maintaining high standards of clinical cleanliness and infection control
- Front-of-house duties including answering phones, welcoming clients, and patient registration

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with animals in a professional setting (essential)
- Comes from a background such as veterinary nursing, animal care, grooming, or similar
- Is motivated to build a long-term career in rehabilitation and hydrotherapy
- Is reliable, proactive, and willing to learn
- Has strong communication and client care skills
- Enjoys hands-on clinical work with animals
- Works well as part of a supportive team
