We are seeking a proactive and organized Transport Administrator to join our team. The role is central to our operations, ensuring that container deliveries are scheduled efficiently, sales are accurately documented, and customer and supplier relationships are maintained. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple administrative and operational tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Book haulage and coordinate deliveries by liaising directly with 3rd party hauliers.
- Process orders accurately using Sage.
- Assist the sales team with day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Document sales and maintain records on our internal systems.
- Raise invoices on the system and send to customers promptly.
- Handle customer and haulier enquiries efficiently and professionally.
- Monitor delivery progress and communicate delays/issues.
- Answer phones, direct calls, and provide general office support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both customers and suppliers.
- Contact customers to provide container arrival times and delivery updates.
- Maintain and update the customer database.
- Use Sage and Topps systems effectively to support operational and sales processes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in an administrative, logistics, or transport coordination role.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Competent with IT systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
