The Chief Security Officer is the head of the security department and point of contact for all security related matters. They are responsible for the implementation of the security policy on behalf of the Ship’s Security Officer.
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Previous cruise ship experience in the role of Chief Security Officer;
- The ability to take overall responsibility for the security of the vessel, the ship’s passengers and crew;
- Experience in ensuring compliance with ISPS code and other regulatory requirements;
- Competence in performing security duties, supervising a team while following strict company and regulatory policies;
- Familiarity with security related equipment;
- The ability to work independently and as an effective member of a small team;
- Strong management skills, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
- The ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
Candidates must hold the following valid STCW certification:
- Ship Security Officer license (A-VI/5);
- Advanced Firefighting (A-VI/3);
- STCW Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1);
- Crisis Management and Human Behaviour (A-V/2);
- PSCRB (A-VI/2).
In return, we can offer you a competitive salary with a 4:2 work rotation of four months on board with two month’s leave, a single cabin with private facilities and flights to/from the vessel arranged and paid for by the company. This is an exciting opportunity to work on board our cruise ships, travelling to worldwide destinations.
