Job Description
Are you full of ideas, highly organised and energised by bringing events to life? Colchester United Football Club is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Events Organiser to help deliver a wide range of exciting events at one of the region’s leading conference and events venues.
From major club events and private parties to Christmas celebrations, tribute nights, comedy nights and off-season concerts, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests.
Working closely with the Conference & Event Sales Manager and colleagues across the business, you’ll play a key role in planning, promoting and delivering events from concept through to completion. We’re looking for someone with strong organisational skills, great attention to detail and the confidence to bring fresh ideas to the table.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. Because events don’t always happen during office hours, flexibility is important and you’ll occasionally be expected to work evenings and weekends in the lead-up to and delivery of events.
What you’ll be doing
Planning and delivering a varied programme of events, from club occasions and private functions to Christmas celebrations, tribute nights, comedy nights and concerts
Researching the market and spotting opportunities for new event ideas that will excite audiences and drive bookings
Creating detailed event plans and proposals, with clear timelines and strong attention to detail
Supporting the promotion and marketing of events through social media, email campaigns, PR activity and listings
Working with colleagues and suppliers to make sure every event runs smoothly from start to finish
Liaising with clients to understand exactly what they need and helping turn their ideas into successful events
Supporting budget management and helping evaluate event performance through feedback and reporting
What we’re looking for
A confident communicator who enjoys working with people and building strong relationships
Excellent organisational skills and a sharp eye for detail
Energy, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for creating first-class events and experiences
The ability to stay calm under pressure, solve problems and adapt quickly when plans change
A proactive approach, with the confidence to use your initiative and bring fresh ideas forward
A creative mindset and the drive to help develop and grow the club’s events offering
Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends when required
Hours and salary
40 hours per week
Salary: £26,436.80 per annum
