Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Control Panel Builder to provide holiday cover for our Procurement Department. This role involves assembling and wiring electrical control panels, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical assembly, with experience using various hand and power tools.
Responsibilities·
- Building and wiring, mainly LV, electrical panels, bending Bus Bars and fabricating plastic and metal covers and brackets
- Reading and working from electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Mechanical and electrical assembly work
- Using hand tools, power tools, and cable crimping equipment
- Modify electrical panels on site
- Filling out report and site certificate sheets for the customer and the company.
- Electrical testing including continuity and insulation checks
- Fault finding and rectification of wiring faults
- Your procurement role will involve sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electrical materials, equipment, and services to support our projects, ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery. Full training will be given.
- Carry out duties deemed necessary for the smooth running of the business.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Panel Wirer or Electrical Assembler
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
- Experience using electrical hand tools and testing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Computer literate. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Comfortable working with measurements, calculations, and basic mathematical tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (for top wage bracket):
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and/or NVQ Level 3 Electrician
- Previous panel testing experience
- Strong electrical fault-finding ability
- Computer literate. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing systems (e.g. Sage) an advantage.
- Previous experience in a Procurement role.
Full time, permanent position, subject to a probationary period
Pay £13 - £18/hour depending on experience
Training will be given
DBS check required to be undertaken.
