We have a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team, based at our Bury St. Edmunds office for our Anglia region.
Aim of the role
To work as an effective part of the Commercial Team, by managing costs, preparing estimates, monitoring budgets in order that our residential housebuilding projects are built in line with our quality and safety standards, in a timely way and cost-effectively
Duties include:
- Preparation of cost to complete documentation in line with the commercial timetable
- Managing the subcontractor procurement process
- Deal with internal or subcontractor queries or requests
- Preparation of reports, monthly accruals, cost analysis, assessment of contractor valuations/ applications for payment, and cost forecasting
- Work alongside the Commercial team to help achieve department deadlines
- Update and accurately maintain records and databases
- Entering data onto the in-house computer systems
- Arranging for documentation to be scanned and uploaded onto the in-house computer system
- Archiving of completed documentation
- Maintain filing systems both physical and electronic
- Accompany the commercial team on Site visits
- A qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
- Experience of procurement systems, preferably COINS
- Computer literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft systems
- Strong numerical reasoning with ability to deliver accurate data and reports
- Experience of working to deadlines to effectively deliver on time
- Working with integrity and consistency, preferably with financial information
- Good telephone manner and organisational ability
- Committed and pro-active with adherence to quality
- Adaptable to change, approachable, conscientious and willing to accept ownership of tasks
- Effective communication both written and verbal
