Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Live-In Head Chef to oversee culinary operations within our esteemed establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers the unique opportunity to manage a dedicated kitchen team while residing on-site, ensuring seamless meal preparation and service for our guests. The Live-In Head Chef will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation, whilst fostering a positive and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth daily operations
Plan, prepare, and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established menus and dietary requirements
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients in compliance with food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in line with health and safety regulations
Develop new recipes and menu ideas to enhance guest experience
Train and mentor junior staff to develop their culinary skills and uphold standards of excellence
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation for inspections
Collaborate with management to coordinate special events or customised meal requests

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in hospitality or restaurant settings
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation across diverse cuisines
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work atmosphere
Demonstrable experience in kitchen management, including inventory control and food safety procedures
Previous experience in a leadership role such as Head Chef or Executive Chef is highly desirable
Familiarity with restaurant service operations and hospitality standards is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training is preferred
