Changing the world of pet food for good
We’re Tails.com, a dog food subscription company with a big difference. We create truly tailored food for each and every dog we serve. We start by asking people a few simple questions about their dog. Then we use that information to create their dog’s unique Tails.com recipe – so their dog gets exactly the nutrition they need, in the taste they love, delivered to their door every month. It’s clever stuff.
We’ve got bold plans. Having created an entirely new category in pet food, we’re now scaling fast – backed by Purina, one of the world’s largest pet food companies. You’ll join a bunch of smart people working towards the same goals – and a bunch of smart-ish dogs, all working on their own thing.
Together, we’ll change the world of pet food for good.
At Tails.com we are more than just colleagues, we’re a Pack. Pack life is shaped by the small daily experiences, relationships, habits and values that make people feel connected, supported and able to do their best work. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team and help drive positive impact for both our people and business.
Sound like a team you want to join? Here’s how you’ll make a difference:
The role
You will be responsible for:
You'll get to know our business areas inside out, acting as a trusted advisor to our people leaders. You'll provide hands-on support and expert advice to help them manage and develop their teams effectively.
You'll champion a great team experience, be able to support navigate change where needed and ensure our culture stays strong.
You'll help make decisions that put people first, keeping our performance on track and our values front and centre.
You'll lead on key People projects and key employee lifecycle stages, everything from talent and compensation reviews to process improvements, making sure everything runs smoothly.
You'll use data and metrics to guide our decisions. Whether it’s diving into compensation data or partnering with Finance on headcount planning, you’ll help us stay smart, compliant, and well-governed.
What you’ll bring:
You’ve got a solid background in generalist HR/People partnering roles, gained in similar sized and set up organisations and you’re comfortable working with different teams like Commercial, Corporate, and Tech.
You’re a great communicator who builds trust easily. You know how to have honest, productive conversations and partner effectively with people at all levels of the business.
You’re a natural problem-solver who enjoys coaching managers and isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo to keep our culture strong and also performance on track.
You know your stuff when it comes to employment law and people practices including talent and reward with experience of managing key lifecycle processes like compensation reviews.
You can handle tricky situations with a blend of common sense, empathy, and a solid grasp of formal processes if needed.
You’re comfortable with data and use it to help make smart decisions.
You’ll anticipate when you need to lean in to contribute to collective people team success through collaboration, professional generosity, knowledge sharing, and a willingness to support colleagues in delivering what is needed for the business and our people
You love finding ways to make things run smoother. You’re tech-savvy, (know your way around a spreadsheet when you need to) and how to use HR tools to help our team work more efficiently.
