Experienced Farm Manager – Onion Production

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee our commercial onion-growing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional with a strong background in vegetable crop production and farm management.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, manage, and supervise all aspects of onion production from land preparation to harvest.
Develop and implement crop production schedules, including planting, irrigation, fertilisation, pest and disease control.
Manage and supervise farm staff, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are maintained.
Monitor crop health and implement best farming practices to maximise yield and quality.
Operate and oversee the maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
Maintain accurate production records, budgets, and inventory.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental, and quality assurance requirements.

Requirements:

Proven experience managing commercial onion or vegetable farming operations.
Strong knowledge of onion growing/experience, irrigation systems, soil management.
Experience leading and motivating farm teams.
Ability to plan, organise, and solve problems effectively.
Competence in operating modern agricultural machinery and equipment.
A current driver's licence (heavy vehicle licence and chemical handling certification are advantageous).
