Enshore Subsea is looking for Electrical Technicians/Engineers to join their Offshore Technician scheme and become the next generation of offshore operators.
The Company is launching its Offshore Technician Scheme intake for 2025. The program aims to employ highly skilled Technicians (with relevant HNC/ HND/ City and Guild qualifications) from other industries (such as armed forces, marine, and manufacturing) and provide them with the relevant training and skills required to operate, maintain, and repair subsea assets offshore.
The programme includes a significant period of training and development activities in an electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic environment as well as all the relevant health and safety training required to undertake our work scopes safely.
We also offer practical training which gives individuals the opportunity to get hands on experience of operating and maintaining our Assets, before mobilising to a vessel or equipment offshore.
OFFSHORE TECHNICIAN SCHEME
The Offshore Technician Scheme is a comprehensive two-year program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the dynamic field of Subsea Operations. The program includes:
· 4 weeks of essential company and industry-related training
· Onshore training at our Blyth Facility
· Offshore activities working alongside Enshore’s Equipment Superintendents and Supervisors
· Specialist Subsea Asset Technician Training
Throughout the program, participants will progress through the Enshore Approved Equipment Technician Competency Scheme, ensuring a holistic and hands-on learning experience.
Year 1 - £36,000 Basic Salary + £17,500 Uplift (based on 175 Offshore Days @£100/day)
Year 2 - £36,000 Basic Salary + £26,250 Uplift (based on 175 Offshore Days @150/day)
Following our defined competency programme our Offshore Technicians can build successful careers with Enshore Subsea, working through their competencies to become technical leads such as Equipment Supervisors, Equipment Superintendents and Offshore Equipment Managers with Enshore.
OFFSHORE TECHNICIANS ROLE PURPOSE
To undertake training, to maintain, repair, and upgrade Subsea Equipment comprising hands-on Electrical and Control Systems applied to a variety of Cable Lay and Trenching (CLT) Equipment, (ROVs, Mechanical Cutting/Jetting trenching vehicles, Cable and Pipeline Ploughs, and Cable Handling systems).
Key TASKS and Responsibilities
- Develop hands on skills related to maintaining and upgrading of Enshore CLT Assets.
- Become familiar with using asset maintenance tooling and test equipment.
- Build a strong working knowledge of Enshore Planned Maintenance System.
- Develop competence in interpreting Enshore Maintenance and Operating Procedures.
- Become competent in complying with working level HSEQ directives (JSAs, Toolbox Talks, Time Out for Safety, PPE)
- Integrate with key departments such as Assets, Technical Engineering, Projects, Crewing and recognise key points of contact.
- Visit key suppliers and establish an appreciation of Enshore supply chain network.
- Satisfy applicable ENSHORE competencies.
HSEQ
- All Enshore employees whether permanent or temporary personnel, onshore or offshore, are responsible for the Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Security compliance relating to the work that is performed by the company.
- In all phases of operations, consideration shall be given to the safety and occupational health of personnel, the Environment and company assets, and line managers are to ensure that all work is performed in conformance with HSEQS requirements set out by company and client and applicable statutory regulations.
- In accordance with the structure and governance of the Company, the position holder is to inform their Line Manager of any matters of importance regarding department or the performance of the Company.

DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE
- Ability to complete basic fault finding on electrical systems.
- Advanced Electrical fault finding from diagnosis to task completion.
- Ability to read, interpret and work from Technical Engineering drawings.
- Experience in PLC’s, Fibre Optics and Electrical Test Equipment
- Experience working with Vessel/Subsea Equipment is desirable.
EDUCATION SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE
- Min NVQ Level 4/HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant electrical discipline.
- Electrical Maintenance experience in a related industry
- Awareness of core, electrical and systems and components.
- Subsea Experience desirable.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (word/excel/Outlook)
- Ideally time served with transferrable skills to move to the Offshore Industry.
