Job Summary
The role of the kitchen assistant manager is to manage the delivery of our successful Kitchen/Unit operations. You will lead the team in providing excellent leadership skills, excellent communication skills to deliver fantastic food to our customers.
To be successful it is essential you have
- Prior manager experience in kitchen background essential
- Excellent communication skills.

Daily Key Responsibilities
- Be a great assistant manager for our company and your team.
- Support the kitchen manager and supervisors.
- · Oversee daily tasks.
- Take charge of the team and shift in absence of manager
- Taking full charge of kitchen operations when kitchen manager is absent to ensure smooth running of the kitchen.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and fix issues quickly and effectively if they arise.
- Lead by example.
- Ensuring strict compliance with food safety, cleanliness and health regulations.
- Maintain a positive, can-do attitude, be a great role model to other team members.
- Manage performance promptly and effectively.
- Strong teams with the right members doing the right jobs
- Deal with issues promptly and directly within the kitchen.
- Provide great communication skills and expect this from others. Ensure communication is excellent through team meetings and one-on-one’s etc.
- Help manage stock ordering, deliveries and waste, monitor and log all traceability paperwork, etc.
- Lead support and develop supervisors as well as identifying and developing future team leaders.
- Perform informal reviews monthly with your manager
- Ensure we have healthy, productive teams.
- Manage workloads appropriately, ensure adequate staffing of the kitchen
- Ensure all team members are strong performers and working to the best of their ability
- Oversee the staff rota including holidays to ensure kitchen is fully covered
- Attend meetings where required; engage and be candid.
- Bring fresh ideas and suggestions to drive business success and deliver on targets.
- Build a culture of continual improvement within your team.
- Be knowledgeable and in support of company aspirations, promises and values. Awareness of the wider industry and competition.
- Familiar with the company structure, resources available and goals.
Financial performance
- Deliver on KPI’s including but not limited to sales, wastage, margins and wages.
Customer Service
- Deliver or surpass customers expectations each and everytime
- Ensure that the highest standards are embedded in the team
Catering- food preparation
- Ensure range and quality standards remain high through the kitchen/unit
- Coordination and communication with teams in other sites where appropriate.
- Overseeing ordering for the department, ensuring appropriate stock levels and regular monitoring of stock through monthly stocktakes.
- Work with colleagues to complete tasks including pricing, promotions and events – ensuring target margins are met.
- Work with team to mitigate wastage and encourage the creative use of wastage from retail and suppliers, within the department.
- Work with team to ensure all members are fully trained in all aspects of their roles and responsibilities.

Expectations
We expect all staff to work with a “can do” attitude, to lead and inspire by example and to put the best interests of the company at the forefront of all they do at Olivia’s Kitchen. This includes taking responsibility for achieving and maintaining the highest standards of quality, service and health and safety in the workplace.
The assistant manager will be required to:
Immediately report concerns to the kitchen manager. Behave appropriately and professionally at all times with customers, visitors and staff. Support the Olivia’s Kitchen policies on Equal Opportunities. Uphold their personal responsibilities relating to Health, Safety, and the Environmental policies.
Pay: £14.35-£16.85 per hour
