Location: Gateshead Team Valley, UK

Reports to: Product Team Lead

Biscuit International UK is the leading specialist supplier of own-label gluten-free biscuits and cookies in the United Kingdom. Located in Gateshead, our production facility operates three lines, with an annual output exceeding 4,300 tonnes annually in plain, chocolate, and sandwich biscuit formats. We are part of Biscuit International, Europe's leading private label biscuit and bread substitute manufacturer, with a rich heritage of over 400 years of expertise in delivering excellent taste at great value.

We're seeking a Mixer to join our production team, where you'll play a crucial role in creating top-quality doughs by operating machines and equipment that automatically mix ingredients according to specified formulas.

As a Mixer, you'll be responsible for weighing and measuring ingredients, conducting physical checks on raw materials, following strict mixing procedures, and maintaining hygiene standards. You'll ensure all health and safety processes are adhered to, report any concerns, and support in other areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Weigh ingredients and follow mixing instructions as per recipe sheets.
Conduct physical checks on raw materials and report any non-conformities.
Use raw materials in strict rotation according to documentation.
Follow traceability procedures and report any concerns.
Check dough consistency against specifications.
Record batches mixed on relevant documentation.
Maintain hygiene standards and follow clean-as-you-go procedures.
Adhere to nut handling/gluten-free and other company procedures.
Wear correct personal protective equipment at all times.
Complete all relevant documentation accurately and timely.
Ensure correct sieving procedures are followed.
Comply with all standards, specifications, and control procedures.
Support health and safety processes, reporting issues immediately.
Assist in other areas as required.

Strategic: Ability to work quickly and methodically, ensuring accuracy, and reporting issues promptly.
Operating: Excellent numeracy skills, flexibility in work activities, and strong time management.
Energy and Drive: Results-driven, action-oriented, self-motivated, and reliable.
Organisational: Confident and professional, with good organisational skills and effective communication at all levels.
Personal and Interpersonal: Strong customer focus, teamwork mentality, and ability to follow strict instructions accurately.
