NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The role:

We are looking for a motivated and caring Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join the Surgical Assessment Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced environment caring for patients undergoing surgical investigations, assessment, treatment and management.

As part of the team you will support the registered nurse in delivering high quality patient care. You will assist with patient vital signs, being familiar with NEWS 2, performing 12 lead ECGs, urinalysis, microbiology samples and report findings to the registered nurse. Venepuncture/cannulation skills are also essential to this role as band 3 healthcare support worker.

In this role, you will support the nursing team with delivering patient care, assisting with daily activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and ensuring patients are always treated with dignity and respect. Previous care experience is essential, along with good communication skills and a compassionate approach.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis following interview and during the pre-employment verification process. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This is a permanent, part-time post of 28.12 hours per week
The role is based at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Corsebar Road, Paisley, PA2 9PN
The shift pattern is days 8am to 8pm & 12pm 12am.
