Chief Nurse Research & Development, Band 8C, 14.4 hours per week (0.4 WTE) (Job Share) 2 Year Fixed Term Contract
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, innovative and proactive individual to work in a job share with the existing Chief Nurse Research and Development. The post holder will share responsibilities for professional leadership of the clinical research nursing and midwifery workforce and the strategic leadership for research capacity building for nursing and midwifery professions. They will take on operational management for 3 WTE clinical research nurse managers.
The postholder will support the implementation and evaluation of the NHS Lothian Research Delivery Community Strategic Plan 2026-2029 and help finalise, implement and evaluate the Nursing, Midwifery, AHP and Pharmacy (NMAHPP) Research Strategic Plan 2026 2030. The role involves collaborative leadership and engagement with seven academic partners across Scotland to build research capacity and capability in the NMAHPP professions. Where appropriate, there will be the opportunity to undertake own research and supervise post-graduate research students.
There is no fixed base for the post, therefore working from home can be an option, or access to a bookable desk at Waverley Court. The post holder will line manage staff at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Western General Hospital.
