Branxholm Park is a luxury exclusive-use wedding venue near Hawick in the Scottish Borders. We are looking for reliable, friendly and professional Front of House Wedding Staff who enjoy working with people and take pride in delivering a warm, polished guest experience.
This is a fast-moving, energetic role. Wedding and event shifts can be busy and reactive, so you need to be comfortable staying calm, moving quickly, helping wherever needed, and responding to guest requests as they come up.
This role would suit someone who enjoys hospitality, likes working with people, and is happy being part of a small, high-standard team. It is not the right role for someone looking for guaranteed weekly hours, live-in accommodation, fixed shifts, or slow-paced work.
Important details
This is a zero-hours role with no guaranteed weekly hours.
Pay: £13.50 per hour.
Shifts vary depending on the wedding or event, and the role you are allocated on the day. Some shifts may start from around 8am for breakfast service, set-up and wedding preparation, while later shifts may run until around 1am for evening service, bar support, party service and close-down.
Applicants need to be flexible and comfortable working a mix of mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes.
Wedding dates are known months in advance, and rotas are normally shared around 1-2 weeks ahead.
There is no live-in accommodation with this role.
Due to our rural location and the nature of the shifts, applicants must have access to their own car or reliable private transport.
What the role involves:
Welcoming guests warmly and professionally on arrival.
Helping guests with simple questions and directing them around the venue when needed.
Setting up and maintaining the breakfast bar / breakfast area.
Tidying social areas throughout the day so the venue always looks well-presented.
Serving drinks during weddings and events.
Serving canapés during drinks receptions.
Serving food during the wedding meal and dinner service.
Clearing plates, glasses and tables efficiently.
Supporting bar service and keeping service areas tidy.
Helping reset rooms and event spaces during and after service.
Keeping guest areas clean, tidy and welcoming throughout the shift.
Responding to guest requests and passing anything important to the wedding manager.
Working closely with the wedding manager, catering team and other front of house staff.
Helping with set-up and pack-down before and after weddings.
Staying calm and helpful when the day becomes busy or plans change.

Experience
Previous hospitality, restaurant, bar, hotel, wedding, event or customer service experience is helpful, but attitude and reliability matter most.
We are happy to train the right person if they are friendly, dependable, energetic and willing to learn.
This is a great role for someone local who enjoys event work, likes being part of special occasions, and is looking for flexible shifts in a high-standard wedding venue.
