Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our Country Pub . The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a busy kitchen environment effectively. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in creating innovative menus, maintaining excellent customer service, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. We do have a ensuite bedroom available to stop over at the Pub. We are looking to start the kitchen cover on a Friday, Saturday & Sunday with the expansion to grow if you would like.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
Develop and implement creative menus that align with the establishment’s concept and customer preferences
Manage food safety protocols in accordance with health regulations and company policies
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Train and mentor staff on food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety procedures
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive background in food production, culinary arts, and restaurant operations
Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse group of kitchen staff
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in menu development, food presentation, and hospitality service
Previous roles involving food preparation, cooking, and serving in a fast-paced environment are highly desirable
Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
