Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to support our busy culinary team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen eye for detail, contributing to delivering excellent service in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Supporting chefs with ingredient organisation and storage
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Previous restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience is advantageous
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment under pressure
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt quickly to changing priorities
