Full job description

Join Starley Hall

Starley Hall provides specialist residential care and education for children and young people aged 10–21 with complex needs. We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and resilient Senior Residential Child Care Worker to help lead our team and support young people to achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

As a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, you will:

Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
Build nurturing, therapeutic relationships that promote safety and wellbeing.
Support and guide Residential Care Workers within the team.
Lead on care planning, risk assessments, reports, and key documentation.
Work collaboratively with families, education staff, therapists, and external professionals.
Support young people to access education, activities, hobbies, and community opportunities.

Participate in on-call and sleep-in duties as required.

About You

You will have:

Experience working with children and young people with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
A child-centred, trauma-informed approach to care.
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of attachment, trauma, and neurodiversity.
SVQ 4 Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 9, or willingness to work towards this qualification.
