As a Senior Events Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering St. James's Place's flagship event programme. Leading a team of event professionals, you'll ensure every event is delivered to an exceptional standard, creating high-quality experiences that connect and inspire Partners, employees, clients and leaders across the business.
Alongside overseeing the wider flagship portfolio, you'll take ownership of one of the organisation's most strategically significant events, delivering it end-to-end with a focus on excellence, engagement and impact.
- Lead and develop a team of event professionals to deliver a portfolio of flagship events.
- Set clear objectives, standards and ways of working aligned to the event strategy.
- Support team capability building across project management, stakeholder engagement, supplier management, content development and on-site leadership.
- Act as Senior Event Lead for one of the organisation's largest annual flagship events.
- Own full end-to-end delivery including planning, budgeting, timelines, risk management, staffing, supplier relationships, content and on-site leadership.
- Partner with executive sponsors, senior leaders, business units and corporate functions to ensure events meet strategic objectives.
- Ensure delivery of a premium, consistent and high-quality delegate experience.
- Oversee the flagship events calendar, ensuring high-quality, compliant and on-time delivery.
- Ensure consistency in standards, branding, service levels, contractual governance and operational excellence across all flagship events.
- Support Event Managers in managing complex stakeholder relationships, resolving risks and escalating issues where required.
You are a confident and experienced event leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. You bring a calm and structured approach to managing complexity and are comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional standards.
You are a collaborative people manager who enjoys developing others, building strong relationships across the business and working with senior stakeholders. You'll have the credibility and experience to influence at all levels while ensuring events deliver against strategic objectives.
You take pride in creating memorable experiences and are driven by continuous improvement, always looking for opportunities to enhance delivery, engagement and impact.
- Significant experience delivering complex, high-profile events end-to-end within a corporate, professional services or regulated environment.
- People & Line management experience leading and developing teams.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior leaders and executive sponsors.
- Experience operating within structured frameworks, governance processes and organisational standards.
- Understanding of the SJP Partnership model and the needs of adviser and Partnership audiences.
- Experience working within a matrix organisation.
- Understanding of brand, culture and how to adapt event delivery to align with business objectives.
- Experience delivering events for multiple audience groups, including employees, advisers, clients or senior leaders.
- Confidence using event management tools such as Cvent.
This is a hybrid role, combining home and office working, with regular travel required to support event delivery. Flexibility in working hours will be required in line with the event calendar, including occasional out-of-hours working and attendance at events.
