About the role
In this role, you will deliver commercially focused analytics and insights to drive performance across the Tesco Marketplace. By partnering with cross-functional teams, you will translate trading data into clear, actionable recommendations, identifying opportunities across category mix, customer behaviour, and emerging trends, while mitigating commercial risks.
In addition, you will contribute to a high-performing analytics function by improving reporting, embedding best practices, and promoting a strong data-driven culture across the Marketplace.
You will be responsible for
Partnering with teams across Marketplace workstreams to deliver data and insights that drive action
Driving commercial understanding of Marketplace trading activity (including category split, basket mix, trend identification, and mitigation of potential headwinds)
Gathering and shaping data briefs, defining analytical approaches, and delivering accurate insights in a timely manner
Liaising with stakeholders to ensure the most effective recommendations are identified and implemented
Supporting the design, implementation, and tracking of trials, including applying statistical methods for test/control selection and measuring significance
Supporting the Analytics Manager with prioritisation and assisting analysts with their data briefs and projects
Promoting a data-driven, self-serve culture by ensuring dashboards, tools, and insights are widely shared, understood, and actionable
Developing new dashboards and tools, maintaining existing reporting, and continuously improving how insights are delivered to the business
Supporting team capability through technical development and onboarding of new starters
Managing agendas for 1:1s and personal development sessions
Working within an agile framework to build strong cross-functional relationships, manage priorities, and deliver key insights and analytics
Taking a leading role in the Online Analytics Community, including:

Sharing learnings and work across the team
You will need
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex analysis and link it to business impact
A degree (or equivalent), ideally in a numerical field
Solid analytics experience (5+ years) within e-commerce, retail, or a commercial environment
Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced setting
Critical thinking, problem solving, and the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek support
Experience coaching or supporting others, with the ability to mentor junior team members
Advanced use of Excel and PowerPoint to analyse and present data clearly
Experience with BI tools (preferably Tableau) to create impactful dashboards and insights
Strong SQL (or similar query language) skills for data extraction and manipulation
Experience with digital analytics platforms (e.g. Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics)
Python or R experience (advantageous)
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of trading performance drivers
