Join the Magic
Our Mission
At Puratos, we believe in the magic of food to bring people together. As a global leader in bakery, patisserie, and chocolate ingredients, we support customers in over 70 countries with innovative, high-quality solutions.
In 2026, we’ve completed the build of our brand-new production facility in Buckingham, and now we’re ready to bring the final piece of the operation to life.
This is not a “business as usual” role. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape our Hygiene function from the ground up, creating the team, standards, and culture that will set us up for long-term success.
Your Mission
As our Hygiene Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of establishing and embedding our Hygiene function within a brand-new site.
You’ll go beyond managing daily operations, you’ll design how the function works, build and develop your team, and set the standards that others will follow.
From defining processes and supporting the training of your team, to embedding a strong food safety culture and ensuring audit readiness, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how we operate.
This is an opportunity to create something lasting, where your impact will be visible from day one.
What you will do
Using your passion for quality and collaboration, you will:
Build and Lead Your Team: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing Hygiene team, setting clear expectations and a strong team culture from the outset.
Design and Embed Standards: Working closely with our Site Trainer and Quality Team, you will establish cleaning procedures, SOPs, and hygiene systems that are practical, robust, and audit-ready.
Set the Foundation for Succes: Implement effective schedules, processes, and ways of working that will support long-term operational excellence.
Champion Food Safety Culture: Bring hygiene and allergen control to life through engaging training and coaching, ensuring understanding, not just compliance.
Collaborate Across the Site: Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and R&D as part of building a fully integrated operation.
Lead with Accountability: As the senior presence on night shift, take ownership for decision-making, communication, and site escalation where needed.
What we expect from you
At Puratos, we believe in more than just skills, we value the mindset and behaviours that drive success. Here’s what we expect from you:
Customer Focus: You’re curious about what people need, whether they’re colleagues or customers, and you act with care and efficiency to make their lives easier. You champion a customer-first mindset in everything you do.
Team Collaboration: You work with others in a spirit of trust and respect. You’re open to new ideas, build strong relationships, and aim for shared success, because we’re better together.
Clear Communication - You tailor your message to your audience, whether it’s face-to-face, in writing, or on the shop floor. You make sure everyone’s on the same page.
Continuous Improvement - You take pride in high standards and are always looking for ways to do things better. You embrace feedback, adapt to change, and never stop learning.
Performance Driven - You’re ambitious, accountable, and resilient. You plan smart, use resources wisely, and stay focused, even when things don’t go to plan.
