Room Leader Full-Time Position

About the Role
As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of your room, ensuring high standards of care, education, and safeguarding are maintained at all times. You will work closely with children, families, and colleagues to provide outstanding early years experiences that support every child to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of practitioners, promoting a positive and professional working environment.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities in line with the EYFS that support children's learning and development.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn through play and exploration.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, encouraging open communication and collaboration.
- Observe, assess, and monitor children's progress, maintaining accurate records and planning for next steps.
- Support children's individual needs and promote inclusive practice throughout the setting.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery and support the development of team members through mentoring and guidance.
- Organise daily routines, including meal times, sleep routines, outdoor play, and learning experiences.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working within an Early Years setting.
- Experience leading a room or supporting a team is desirable.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS and child development.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, proactive, and caring attitude.
- The ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- A genuine passion for helping children learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs, including contributing to personalised learning plans, TLPs, EHCPs, or working alongside external professionals, would be advantageous.
Hours & Flexibility
This is a full-time position within our nursery opening hours of 7:30am–5:45pm, Monday to Friday.
We understand the importance of work-life balance and are happy to discuss flexible working patterns. Full time hours within our operating times are negotiable for the right candidate.
