CNC Turner – Join a Skilled Precision Engineering Team

Due to continued growth, A&B Engineering (Southern) Ltd. is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join our expanding precision engineering team. We are a well-established subcontract engineering company with a strong reputation for producing high-quality precision-machined components for a wide range of industries throughout the UK.
Working from our modern facility, equipped with some of the best CNC machinery available, we specialise in the manufacture of complex precision components with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong CNC turning experience who takes pride in producing accurate work to the highest standards.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong setting and operating experience on CNC turning machinery
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and produce high-quality precision components
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Desirable:
- Experience with multi-axis or mill-turn machinery
- Previous programming experience
- Knowledge of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices
- Experience using inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and bore gauges
Key Responsibilities
CNC Machining
- Set and operate Mazak CNC turning machines to manufacture precision-engineered components
- Produce work to drawing specifications and required quality standards
- Carry out in-process inspection checks and make necessary offsets or adjustments
- Maintain efficient machine operation and report any production or quality concerns
Quality & Production
- Ensure all components meet customer specifications and company quality standards
- Accurately complete any required production or inspection documentation
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organised working area
- Work positively as part of the wider engineering team

Working Hours & Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position working 38 hours per week. Standard working hours are:
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm
Overtime is available dependant on workload.
Holiday entitlement is currently 20 days per annum, plus 8 days Bank Holidays.
