As a Senior Power BI Consultant, you will operate at the intersection of data, analytics, technology, and business strategy, helping clients transform complex data ecosystems into scalable, governed, and high-impact analytics solutions.
This is not a traditional dashboard development role. We are looking for a technically exceptional, client-ready consultant who combines deep hands-on Power BI expertise with advisory capabilities across governance, architecture, self-service enablement, and Microsoft Fabric adoption.
You will engage directly with senior stakeholders, lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Power BI solutions, and contribute to the growth of Keyrus UK's Data & Analytics practice.
Job location: London, UK (Hybrid, 3 days on-site)
Contract type: Permanent
Target start date: July 2026
Working hours: Full-time (40h/week)
Compensation: £58,000 – £87,000 gross/year
In this role, you will:
Design and deliver end-to-end enterprise Power BI solutions across modelling, transformation, visualisation, governance, and deployment
Architect and build complex semantic models using star and snowflake schema principles
Develop advanced DAX solutions leveraging evaluation context, iterators, calculation groups, and time intelligence patterns
Design composite models, aggregations, and incremental refresh strategies for large-scale datasets
Build robust Power Query/M transformations, including custom functions and query folding optimisation
Optimise Power BI performance using tools such as DAX Studio and VertiPaq Analyser
Deliver paginated reports for operational and regulatory reporting requirements where needed
Provide guidance on Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, the semantic layer, and analytics architecture decisions
Design and implement secure Power BI environments, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS)
Define and promote Power BI governance frameworks, development standards, and best practices
Support tenant administration, workspace architecture, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD implementation
Advise clients on Microsoft Fabric adoption strategies, migration roadmaps, and platform scaling
Design self-service BI operating models and data democratisation strategies
Establish governance frameworks covering data lineage, endorsement, sensitivity labels, audit logging, and access control
Build certified dataset strategies and reusable analytics assets
Contribute to Power BI Centre of Excellence initiatives and community enablement programs
Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including Heads of Analytics, CDOs, CTOs, and business leaders
Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and executive briefings
Translate complex technical concepts into business value and actionable recommendations
Support analytics maturity assessments, roadmap creation, and BI strategy definition
Contribute to proposals, solution scoping, effort estimation, and practice development activities
Deliver training, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions for technical and business audiences
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal communities of practice
Support the continuous evolution of Keyrus methodologies, frameworks, and reusable assets
You will work in complex, evolving client environments
You are expected to balance delivery quality with pragmatism
You will collaborate with diverse profiles across functions and cultures
Autonomy increases with seniority — so does responsibility
You will operate at both the architectural and stakeholder strategy levels
