About the Role:
London is one of the most dynamic food and logistics hubs in the world, and at Zumra Foods Ltd, we bring that same level of energy and precision to food distribution and supply chain operations. We are building a fast-scaling food trading and distribution business that connects high-quality food products with retail and e-commerce partners across the UK and Europe.

We are looking for a Head of Operations (Food Distribution & Supply Chain) who can take full ownership of our operational backbone. This is not a maintenance role—you will be shaping how the entire business runs. You will lead supply chain strategy, optimise fulfilment and logistics performance, and build scalable systems that support rapid growth.

You will be the key operational leader bridging suppliers, warehouses, logistics partners, and internal teams, ensuring everything runs efficiently, reliably, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Operations Leadership:
Own daily operations across supply chain, warehousing, procurement, and logistics functions.

Supply Chain Optimisation:
Improve cost efficiency, delivery speed, inventory accuracy, and fulfilment reliability across all channels.

Logistics & Fulfilment Management:
Oversee relationships with 3PL providers, warehouses, and distribution partners to ensure smooth operations.

Process Development:
Build and refine scalable operational workflows, SOPs, and reporting structures.

Performance & KPIs:
Define operational metrics and continuously improve service levels, efficiency, and cost control.

Team Leadership:
Recruit, lead, and develop an operations team to support business growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with procurement, commercial, and finance teams to align supply chain strategy with business goals.

Compliance & Standards:
Ensure all operations comply with UK food safety, import/export, and logistics regulations.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:
5–10+ years in operations, supply chain, logistics, or FMCG environments, ideally within food distribution or e-commerce.

Leadership:
Proven experience managing teams, vendors, or large operational workflows.

Operational Expertise:
Strong understanding of supply chain processes including inventory management, procurement, and fulfilment optimisation.

Problem-Solving Mindset:
Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical, scalable solutions.

Stakeholder Management:
Comfortable working with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal leadership teams.

Execution Focus:
You are structured, decisive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve.

Mindset:
You think in systems, not tasks. You understand how small operational improvements scale across an entire business.

Pay: £65,743.93-£91,987.51 per year
