TECHNICIANS NEEDED!
We are currently recruiting for 2 experienced HGV Technicians, with the potential opportunity for an Apprentice Technician to join our growing, family-run business here in Milnthorpe, Cumbria.
Working Hours:
* Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm
* 45 hours per week* Overtime available, including optional Saturdays
* Flexibility can be accommodated where required
* 28 days annual leave including bank holidays
The Role:
The successful candidates will be responsible for the inspection, MOT preparation, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of our fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and operational. You will also be expected to identify and order parts required to complete repairs efficiently. We are looking for technicians who take pride in their work and possess strong fault-finding abilities. We believe in diagnosing and repairing issues correctly rather than simply replacing parts unnecessarily.
Our Fleet:
* 25 articulated and rigid HGVs
* 30 trailers
* A small number of Luton vans
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous HGV technician experience preferred
* Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
* Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
* Good attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
*Commitment to maintaining a clean, organised workshop environment
* Reliable transport to and from work
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
* HGV Class 1 Licence* Welding experience
* Paint spraying experience
* Relevant industry qualificationsCandidates without direct HGV experience but with a strong mechanical or engineering background are encouraged to apply, as full consideration will be given.
Tools & Equipment:
Own tools are required. Our workshop is well-equipped with the necessary specialist tools and equipment to support the role. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can fit into the team, contribute positively to the workshop environment, and enjoy being part of a hardworking business with a good sense of humour.
