About us:

Nestled in one of the most beautiful corners of the South Lakes, Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications Ltd. are a steel fabrication company based in Ulverston. Our services include the design engineering, fabrication, supply, and installation of a wide variety of structural steelwork, plant, and buildings as well as bespoke fabrication projects.

Due to the growth of the company, an exciting opportunity has arisen and we are currently seeking an experienced HR Manager. The hours are 20-30 per week, Monday to Friday, these hours and days are flexible for the right candidate and can be discussed at interview. You will be on site working at our Head Office, near Ulverston, Cumbria.

Duties include:

Provide advice and support to all Management and advising employees on queries and concerns relating to their employment terms and conditions, and HR policies and procedures. Specifically including: disciplinary, grievance, attendance and performance issues in line with company procedures
Provide a customer-focused outlook with a high level of discretion, confidentiality and professionalis
Ensuring the Staff Handbook and employment contracts are kept up to date and in line with current legislation
Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business
Provide a focal point for the business on people related activities in support of recruitment and retention
Oversee the administration of payroll and pension scheme

Qualifications and Experience

CIPD qualified
Minimum 3-5 years HR experience in a manufacturing environment
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisation and planning skills
Able to work to tight deadlines and multi-task
Adaptable and flexible
Understanding of HR best practices and in-depth knowledge of employment law regulations

Salary - DOE
