Job Vacancy: Skilled Hard Landscaping & Groundworks Operative

Brady Garden & Landscape Services Ltd is looking for an experienced Hard Landscaping Operative to join our growing team. We work across Furness and the South Lakes delivering high‑quality paving, driveways, drainage, fencing, decking, stonework, and full garden construction.

This role requires someone who understands how to build to British Standards, work safely, and deliver a professional finish every time.

Essential Technical Skills

Confident installing paving to BS 7533 standards
Strong understanding of SuDS‑compliant installations, permeable bases, and correct sub‑base construction
Experience installing ACO drains, channels, gullies, and setting correct falls
Knowledge of DPC levels, maintaining required 150mm clearance, and managing level transitions
Ability to set out and work to accurate site levels using laser levels
Competent in driveways, patios, block paving, porcelain, sandstone, and edging
Skilled in decking, fencing, gates, sleepers, and timber structures
Experience with stonework, retaining walls, steps, and general masonry
Understanding of groundworks, excavation, compaction, and safe digging practices
Confident mixing and using materials correctly (cement, mortar, concrete, bedding mixes, post‑mix)
Competent with tools and machinery (cut‑off saws, compactors, breakers; digger experience is a bonus)
Full UK driving licence

Personal Qualities

Reliable, punctual, and able to work to a high standard
Takes pride in workmanship and finishing details
Physically fit and comfortable with manual outdoor work
Able to work independently or as part of a small team
Good communication and problem‑solving skills
