Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our Thrapston Primark site. This role is key to ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective planning of transport operations while maintaining excellent service levels for customers. Working closely with drivers, warehouse teams, and customer service, you’ll be responsible for planning routes, managing resources, and reacting quickly to operational changes.
This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll be working 40 hours per week,
Shift A Sunday-Thursday 10:00 – 18:00 with a 30% shift allowance for the Sunday.
Shift B Thursday-Monday 09:00 – 17:00 with a 30% shift allowance for the Saturday and Sunday

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,000.00 or £39,000.00 per annum depending on shift pattern, and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Using Paragon to plan and optimise daily and weekly transport schedules to maximise efficiency
- Ensure all transport activity complies with UK legislation and company policies
- Monitor vehicle utilisation, costs, and delivery performance
- Communicate effectively with drivers regarding routes, timings, and changes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as delays, shortages, or vehicle problems
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Previous experience in a Transport Planner or similar role using Paragon
- Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and driver hours
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Confident using planning systems, Excel, and other IT tools
